On the table
British based contemporary artist. Painter of bold and colourful tablescapes.
I’m a UK based painter and have been working as a full time artist for six years. My work reimagines the dinner table through bold, colourful tablescapes that explore both beauty and complexity. Using UV reactive paint, I create layers that aren’t always visible to the naked eye, inviting viewers to discover hidden meanings beneath the surface.

Artist Statement
My work explores the intersection of beauty, struggle and discovery through bold, colourful tablescapes. The dinner table is a familiar setting, yet to me, food has always been a complicated subject, something both comforting and challenging. By reimagining it in paint, I reclaim it as a space of expression, storytelling and transformation.
I use vibrant colours and intricate details to capture the raw beauty of the table, not only as a place of nourishment but as a mirror of human connection and complexity. Many of my pieces are layered with UV reactive invisible paint, hidden elements that only reveal themselves under certain light. This choice reflects my belief that not everything is visible at first glance, some truths live beneath the surface, waiting to be uncovered.
The result is work that is bold yet delicate, playful yet profound. My tablescapes are not just depictions of meals, but invitations to look deeper, beyond what the eye can immediately see, into the unseen emotions, histories and meanings that reside within everyday rituals.
My Creative Process
Inspiration
I begin by researching the topic, hidden meanings impact and related foods.
Sketching
Quick gestural sketches help me capture the essence of my vision before moving to the canvas.
Layering
I build up layers of paint, allowing each to inform the next, creating depth and complexity.
Refinement
The final stage involves careful attention to detail and ensuring the emotional impact is fully realized.
What Inspires Me
Food
The changing seasons, organic forms, and BOLD colour palettes provide endless inspiration for my work.
Literature
Poetry and novels help me explore emotional depth and translate feelings into visual language.
Music
The rhythm and flow of music influences my brushwork and the movement within my compositions.
Travel
Experiencing different cultures and landscapes expands my visual vocabulary and emotional range.
Art is not what you see, but what you make others see. Through my paintings, I hope to share the beauty and complexity of human emotion, creating a bridge between the artist's inner world and the viewer's heart.
